Getting Intimate - An Interactive Workshop Series

"Getting Intimate is an interactive workshop series that explores identity, relationship, self-expression, and intimacy through facilitated activities and open dialogue. Creators Ren Langer and Sarah Silverstein have a combined more than 20 years of group facilitation experience and utilize creative curriculum delivery methods in the exploration of Self and society. Participants can expect to engage in experiential learning opportunities such as directed small group conversations, movement-oriented self-reflection, and both written and verbal exercises. Getting Intimate is a challenge by choice workshop, and participants are encouraged to only share as much as they feel comfortable sharing. Male, female, and non-binary identifying folks welcome. LGBTQ+ inclusive. Come alone or with others. Physical impairments and mobility differences can be accommodated.

The upcoming December 14th workshop will explore the theme of "Gender Performance in Relationships". How do we learn gender? What does it mean to perform gender and in what ways is gender policed?  What gender roles are we confined to in relationships, and how can we deconstruct them? In connecting strangers through the power of open and vulnerable dialogue, we hope to create a space of compassionate curiosity wherein participants can look inwards and examine their own gender identity, as well as learn from the experiences of others. Areas of focus include balancing our inner divine feminine and masculine, investigating social messaging around gender, and finding new ways to dismantle the gender binary. Expect movement, large group and small group activities, writing exercises, and human connection."
