Hysteria Comedy Collective: Comedy Writing Workshop

Welcome to Hysteria, a comedy collective open to all female-identifying, trans, and non-binary folks. Whether you are a seasoned performer or completely new to the scene, we invite you to join our community of professional, novice, and aspiring stand-up comedians. Our mission is to create a space where we can support each other's growth as writers/performers, give and receive feedback on our material, and foster a more inclusive, progressive, and artistic comedy community.

We will offer a monthly writers workshop open exclusively to fem, trans, and non-binary folks. These 90 minute workshops will be an opportunity to test out new material and receive feedback from the group. Think: an open mic meets an intimate writers room. No heckling, no drunken spectators, no experience required, and no pressure to have anything polished. Only support, encouragement, and suggestions for growth. 

You may RSVP here, but no advanced signup is necessary; simply show up with a notebook, pencil, and any material you'd like to workshop.

• Feb. 16: 5:30-7pm
• March 16: 5:30-7pm

Each season at Open Space, Hysteria will put on a ticketed comedy show, featuring only fem/trans/non-binary performers. We invite all genders to attend the upcoming Spring show on Friday April 15 at 8pm. Each performance will feature a mix of experienced headliners and emerging local comics. Anyone who is interested in a paid performing slot must attend at least 1 workshop.
