In The Round | A Singer Songwriter Series

This special event will highlight original music of local singers/songwriters in a warm, intimate setting with cabaret-style seating. Local, original music reflects what is around us. Our musicians who create original work are the heart of our community, and our goal is to create a space for their songs to be appreciated.

Sisu

The name “Sisu” was picked after resonating so deeply with the Finnish concept. Sisu is resilience even when you’re in the thick of it. It is the daily decision we make to keep going. The collection of songs I have written over the last few years are covered in sisu. One life altering event after the other and I’m still here, determined to create beauty out of the ashes.

Johnny Bourbon

Johnny Bourbon is a singer-songwriter born in Bend, Oregon, in 1989. 

He grew up in various locations throughout the Pacific Northwest and honed his writing and performing skills in various bands since his early teenage years. 

 He challenges himself to provoke honesty in his songwriting, examining the human condition and the subjects of love and loss, life and death, optimism and strife. He shares his personal history and the inner dialogues that follow with his audience, challenging them to ask themselves similar questions and confront their humanness amidst the backdrop of driving alternative country and folk guitar rhythms.  Johnny's performance can be described as an act of emotional purging. He fills a room with a sense of heavy catharsis while evoking levity and sometimes laughter as he shares the stories most dear to him. 

Mari

Mari's original music is a mix of blues, folk, alternative, and everything in between. Her lyrics take you on a journey of healing and self-discovery. She formed a band called Mari & The Dream in 2023, but occasionally, you'll see her performing solo in intimate settings.
